Well, yeah, plenty of them. None that you’re dancing with, but plenty of folks.

Seems an odd way to dance, if you ask me.

Well, I meant across from me, but I suppose there are a lot of people here.

Really? What’s so odd about it? Have you never seen a waltz before?

I meant dancing alone! There’s a bunch of people here; can’t imagine none of them would want to dance! Or do you just prefer to dance alone?

Yooo! Hey lady! What’cha doing?

Oh, hello! I was dancing of course!

<peers around, looking for some explanation of the girl’s behavior, but not exactly expecting one> With yourself?

Of course! Do you see anyone else around here?

A day at the beach (Open!)

tomorrowsinventor:

Ann smiled at the beautiful beach that she had found, while wandering a fair distance away from home. She loved the area and found herself inspired by all the cool places in this town, and the amazing castle. She walked down the beach barefoot, boots and socks already off further up near a towel that she had brought with her. She walked the beach a couple of times, loving the water on her feet, before she sat down close enough that the waves washed up over her legs as she watched the water.

After a while she got up and moved farther up the beach, near her towel, and started building. All this soft sand and no sandcastle in sight, so she was going to change that. She got to work starting to build the outer walls of her castle when she looked up and noticed another girl walking onto the beach. She had a huge red towel with her and Ann smiled again before continuing to work on her giant sandcastle.

Out of the corner of her better eye, Illuminator saw another girl on the beach. She turned her head, trying to get a better look. She saw that the other girl, quite obviously from out of town as Illuminator had never seen her before, was working intently with big lumps of sand. Illuminator smirked. This was someone who knew how to have a good time at the beach. Sunbathing was boring and overrated, anyway.

She frowned, realizing she hadn’t brought along any castle building supplies (or anything other than a big towel and a thermos full of relax tea). Still, perhaps that girl could use some extra manpower — or womanpower, for that matter — in her efforts. Illuminator walked over and crouched down next to the girl and her budding architectural wonder. “‘Lo there!” she said. “Want some help?”

A day at the beach (Open!)

Illuminator stared out the window of the flower shop from behind the counter. Kohaku hadn’t been around for a while… she’d almost forgotten what it was like not to have her around. It was quiet. Too quiet. And running the flower shop in Kohaku’s place wasn’t exactly her idea of a fun Saturday afternoon. She stretched her arms up over her head and yawned, bored with the thrills of being nobody’s florist.

In a short while, summer would be over. The beaches would close soon! Illuminator shook her head. It was unacceptable! How dare the beaches have the audacity to close just because some people can’t take the cold weather in a swimsuit. She glanced between the door, which had remained closed for hours, and the window, which poured enticing sunlight all throughout the shop. Come outside, Illy. Come out and play in the water. Build a sand castle! Build a sand murder scene!

“Don’t have to tell me twice,” Illuminator said to herself. She broke from her post, skipped over to the door, and flipped the “open” sign to “closed.” No one would ever know. With that taken care of, she raced upstairs and threw her swimsuit on, eager to get out of the stuffy little shop.

Once at the beach, she laid out a huge red towel on the sand. “Ahhh, perfect!” The sun was high, a breeze was blowing, and just a few fluffy white clouds hovered over the horizon. A picturesque day if there ever was one.

Are YOU thinking what I’m thinking, Prince Lest?

thatscholarwiththeglasses:

Oh no no, please, I just thought— you looked a bit— Ahh n-nevermind I seem to have misunderstood your expressions *smiles awkwardly* Good, that’s great to know! Me? Oh the usual, you know, traveling on business. It’s good to be back though~

Hm! That’s what I thought! <adjusts monocle> I simply meant that I’m never TOO busy to shoot the breeze. It may not seem like there’s time, but I’ll make it! From scratch! Brew it like a fine Earl Grey.

Business, huh? Is that where you got that book there? <tilts head> Why’s it shaped like that?

*chuckles* Work hasn’t been as good, huh? But I suppose that’s good, in a way. It means the kingdom is peaceful thanks to your efforts. Has there been any trouble while I was away? so far noone’s told me so, but—you’d know more about that

Heeeey, what makes you think work’s not good? I just said work’s great!

Huh… not that I know of… And if I don’t know about it, it’s prob’ly not happening!

What about you? Where did you get off to, anyway?

thatscholarwiththeglasses sent: Oh, Miss Illuminator! *beams* I haven't seen you since I returned... Have you been busy with a case?

Arthur, ‘lo there! I— I’ve been sooooooo busy! Yep, got a million cases to solve— almost no time to talk!

Ah, who’m I kidding, I’ve always got time for a good chat.

Ahhhh crap!

I fell asleep on the job!

Aw, now I’ll never be able to solve this…

This…

<sighs>

Right…
